About
What this school hopes for, what it stands for, and the kind of learner it imagines growing.
Ozark Middle School helps every learner become curious, capable, and kind through challenging academics, creative exploration, and stewardship of our lake community.
Every student leaves Ozark ready to think independently, work collaboratively, communicate clearly, and contribute with integrity.
Five values guide how the Harbor community learns and treats one another.
Ask thoughtful questions and pursue meaningful answers.
Build a school where every person is known, respected, and included.
Take pride in careful thinking, revision, and high-quality work.
Try difficult things, learn from mistakes, and speak with honesty.
Care for one another, the campus, and the lake environment.
We hope every student grows into each of these over their three years.
By the time a student leaves Ozark, we hope they are:
A few everyday examples of these values in the life of the school.
Sixth graders study the cove behind the school and publish field guides about what they find.
Every student joins a small Harbor Seminar advisory where they are greeted by name each morning.
Writers in the workshop draft, share, and revise their work until they are proud to share it aloud.
Eighth graders present a capstone project to peers, mentors, and families at the end of the year.
Service-learning teams care for the campus gardens and the shoreline boardwalk through the seasons.
