Student Life
Fine Arts at Ozark
The arts are woven through the whole school. Whether a student picks up an instrument for the first time or has been drawing for years, there is a place to make something and share it.
Ensembles and studios
Band
Concert and jazz bands where beginners and returning players grow side by side, from first notes to a full spring concert.
Choir
Voices for every range, learning to listen and blend, with pieces that span folk songs, world music, and seasonal favorites.
Strings
A string orchestra exploring violin, viola, cello, and bass, building tone and ensemble skills across the three middle-school years.
Theatre
On-stage and backstage students mount a fall play and a spring musical, learning acting, set building, lighting, and stage management.
Visual Art
Studios for drawing, painting, printmaking, and ceramics, with a student gallery that rotates new work throughout the year.
Media Arts
Photography, digital design, and short-form video, including the team that produces the Morning News Studio.
Seasonal showcases
The school calendar is anchored by moments when families gather to see what students have made. A fall arts night opens the galleries and warms up the new ensembles. A winter concert fills the commons with music. A spring showcase brings together the musical, the student gallery, and a media-arts screening for one last celebration before summer.
Many of these performers also take arts coursework during the day. You can read about the Fine Arts department, its teachers, and its course pathways in Academics.
