“Everyone has a story; I just like writing mine down.”

Mateo fills notebooks with half-finished adventures and tiny comic panels drawn in the corners of his pages. In the creative writing circle he shares short tales about brave otters and clever inventors, always eager for feedback that makes the next draft stronger. Mateo believes a good story can come from the most ordinary day, and he keeps a list of overheard phrases that might someday belong to a character. With the yearbook team he writes punchy captions that capture the spirit of an event in a single line. Kind and observant, Mateo notices the details others rush past. Classmates often ask him to help untangle a plot or invent a name, and he always says yes, because to Mateo a story is more fun once it is shared.
