The orchestra works on balance and ensemble listening through more demanding repertoire. Students perform together at concerts during the year.

What students learn

  • Play in multiple keys with improved intonation
  • Use new finger patterns and shift toward additional positions
  • Apply expressive bowing styles such as legato and staccato
  • Listen and balance within the string orchestra
  • Perform intermediate orchestra repertoire at concerts

Signature project

The orchestra prepares an expressive feature piece for the spring concert.
