Robotics and Automation

An exciting elective where students build and program robots to complete real challenges.

Grade 8SemesterElective

Description

Robotics and Automation lets students design, build, and program robots to perform a series of tasks. Students learn how sensors, motors, and simple code work together to control movement and respond to the environment. The course blends engineering and coding while encouraging creativity and persistence.

What students learn

  • Assemble a working robot from a kit and instructions
  • Program a robot to move and respond to sensor input
  • Test, debug, and improve robot behavior
  • Explain how sensors and motors work together
  • Collaborate to complete a robotics challenge

Signature project

Teams program a robot to navigate a course and complete a challenge, then refine it through testing.
