SCI-710

Life Science 7

Seventh graders investigate living things, from cells and body systems to ecosystems and heredity.

Grade 7YearRequired

Description

Life Science 7 takes students inside the living world for a full year of investigation. Students study cells, body systems, heredity, and how organisms interact within ecosystems. Through models, observations, and lab work, students learn to explain how living things grow, survive, and depend on one another.

What students learn

  • Describe the structure and function of cells and body systems
  • Explain how traits are inherited from one generation to the next
  • Trace the flow of energy and matter through an ecosystem
  • Use models to represent biological processes
  • Analyze data to draw evidence-based conclusions
  • Practice safe and accurate lab techniques

Signature project

Students build a model of a local ecosystem and explain how its organisms depend on one another.
